Comedy Acts

John Moloney is a well-known, much respected professional entertainer who has delighted audiences with brilliant stand-up comedy for nearly a decade. The former German teacher works regularly at major clubs on The Comedy Club LTD comedy circuit and has played to numerous sell-out audiences at the Edinburgh Festival.

His range of material and virtuosity have made him a truly international rising star as a brilliant comic and an excellent musician as well. John is the master of the modern one liner. After a triumphant trip to the Montreal Comedy Festival La Presse newspaper said of John “His fresh observations on life and brilliant one-liners thrilled his audience. This man’s a star.’

In 1996 John was invited for the second time to host the Guiness Irish Music Festival in Australia and New Zealand, and ended his nationwide tour with a two-week run at the Universal as part of the Melbourne Comedy Festival, where he has gained his own following.

Mark Walker is a laugh to behold !

This colourful enigmatic nomad was born in Ireland. He then moved to, and throughout the north of England where he was last seen fronting a pub rock band by night, and working as a pebble dasher by day in Grimsby. He now finds himself living in London and working the comedy circuit. Confused? Well not as much as he is!

The comedy urge has always been there but manifested itself in January 1999. Since then Mark has become one of the top comics on the circuit today. He is vocally and physically dynamic with his performance in which he combines life with surrealism, to become a living embodiment of his daydreams.

At just 28, Paul Zerdin has 11 years experience as a performer that showed when he appeared in the 1999 Royal Variety Show in the presence of HM the Queen.

He was the 1st outside winner – by over 100,000 votes – of the Big Big talent show hosted by Jonathon Ross on LWT.

He made his TV debut as a magician on BBC's Tricky Business. However, within 6 months he appeared as a ventriloquist on Hanger 17 and shortly after that landed a 2 year contract presenting GMTV kids’ programme Rise and Shine.

With his irresistible characters Sam, Albert and the Baby, Paul has appeared on TV shows such as Disney Club, Live and Kicking, The Alphabet Game, Talking Telephone Numbers, The Freddy Starr Show, The Big Breakfast and LWT’s top rated Christmas Shows – Richard Digance and Shirley Basset’s 60th Birthday Special.

Paul has worked on many TV Commercials including Kellogg’s, Persil and Honda and was involved as a puppeteer in the film Muppets Treasure Island for The Jim Henson Company and was also the ventriloquial advisor to Anthony Sher in the BBC’s film Genghis Cohn.

Tim Clark is one of the brightest lights on the London comedy scene and a familiar face on television

From his grounding on the Northern club circuit, he is now the premiere compere at The Comedy Club LTD venues.  He is considered one of the countries best compere performers with his skill for working audiences.  Tim’s regular appearances on the live circuit ensures he keeps his sharp wit.  He has toured with Frank Skinner and performed extensively in Europe and the Middle East.  Which led to Tim becoming the first British comedian, in modern times, to work in Beijing in 1995.

Tim made an instant impact on his television debut Under The Moon, an interactive sports programme he co-hosted for Channel 4 in 1997.  The combination of his striking looks, quick wit and affable nature, meant his cult status began to rise quickly and to date has made vast appearances on the live circuit and on television.  Tim is now regarded as one of the best on the circuit.

Dance Bands

Midnight Hour

Rave reviews of Midnight Hour’s performances include that published by ‘The Stage’ national entertainment newspaper: “Midnight Hour, an 11-piece soul band, blew a storm to start the second half.  How rewarding to see so many talented musicians playing real instruments and they could not fail with ‘In the Midnight Hour’ as their opener.  Superbly attired and exceptional visually, the four vocalists featured a great span of songs from Aretha Franklin to Jailhouse Rock”.

Ice Blue

Ice Blue is a high-class, versatile and experienced four-piece band.  Their special blend of vocal and musical harmony is the result of many years’ entertainment experience.  Individual band members have performed in numerous venues including: Raffles Hotel (Singapore), Intercontinental Hotel (Oman), The Ritz (London) and the British Embassy (Paris).  Their wealth of experience results in a band of immense versatility, and with a repertoire of subtle dinner-dance music, dynamic rock and roll, romantic ballads, strict tempo, party songs and modern pop/disco material, there is music to suit all tastes.

Formed in the mid-eighties, Swerve has always aimed to provide high quality live music suitable for a wide variety of functions.  The line-up of vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards and drums makes for a highly flexible unit, capable of reproducing a large selection of musical styles.  They have a large and ever expanding repertoire from which music is selected according to the type of event and age-range present. Selections range from Sinatra to Boyzone, Robert Palmer and Tom Jones - from the 60s to the present day.

This is an extremely lively party band ranging in size from a duo to five-piece.  The basic duo features both male and female lead and backing vocals, acoustic guitar, bass guitar and alto saxophone. The band plays hits from the 60s to the 00s ensuring that there’s something there for everyone.  They have played at venues from private marquees and small hotels right up to headlining an event at Wembley Arena.  Recent clients include Brian May (of Queen fame), Richard Branson, The Institute of Directors, stars from Eastenders to name but a few. Starlight is a very visual act – guaranteed to create a party atmosphere.

As an example of costs one of the above bands could start from as little as £1000 for a 3 hour booking.

One stand with one instructor can accommodate up to 8 guests per 30-45 minute session. For larger numbers, two instructors will be required.

Competition recurve bows and crossbows available.  Charges include professional instructors, protective arm braces and all equipment and mini-marquee. One instructor can attend to two people at a time when practicing and shooting.

Duck Herding

‘One Man and his Dog’ has nothing on this!  There is scope for much hilarity as guests try to control the collies and herd ducks through an obstacle course under instruction from a top sheepdog handler.  Up to 8 guests per session (min. 30 minutes).

Hawkeye Cricket Simulator - indoor

Experience for the first time the thrills of facing the fastest bowlers in the world.  The speed and spin they generate is awesome.  Using data captured from world-class matches, the virtual reality device allows you to face and return the ball with a specially designed bat.  The commentary informs players how many runs they score with each shot, or if they have been clean bowled.

Smart Golf - indoor

Golfers of all levels and abilities can now experience the real "Zest of Golf". On-screen information indicates to the player the distance to the pin, pin position, land profile, wind speed and direction.

Once the ball is struck, its trajectory is instantly displayed on either a large screen monitor or projector screen showing true player accuracy. There is also close-up green action for spectator viewing pleasure catching any hole in one!

Llama Trekking

Llama trekking through the grounds of Ashdown Park and surrounding countryside can be arranged.  The treks last about one hour, although they can be tailored to fit in with the day’s schedule.  Twenty llamas will be brought to the hotel, and the trek will loop around the grounds arriving back at the hotel.
